Payment for services is due immediately after your session.
Appointments can be requested over the phone or via our online request form.
We understand that unexpected circumstances arise and you may need to reschedule an appointment. We are happy to accommodate our clients who do not abuse this courtesy. Please try to give 24 hours notice so that the appointment time can be filled.
We require 24-hours advance notice should cancellation of an appointment be necessary. Failure to comply with the 24‐hour advance notice policy AND missed appointments will result in the following fees:
Clients arriving late to an appointment are expected to pay the full amount of the agreed-upon price for the scheduled service. The appointment time may also have to be modified so that the therapist can continue to be on time for following appointments.
Hands On Healing must be made aware of their client’s physical condition. It is the responsibility of the client to inform our massage therapists of:
Clients must list all of these issues when completing our client intake form (“Confidential Health History“) as well as inform our therapists of any changes.
Our massage therapists do not diagnose illness, disease, or any physical or mental disorder, nor do they prescribe medical treatment, pharmaceuticals, or perform spinal thrust manipulations. Massage is not a substitute for a medical examination or diagnosis, and it is recommended that a medical doctor be consulted for these services. Clients must notify their therapist any time they feel their well-being is compromised.
Our massage therapists are licensed professionals and held to the highest standards of the Alabama Board of Massage Therapy and National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. If requested, massage therapists at Hands On Healing will adjust pressure, work longer on a specific problem, or move on to another area. Clients may refuse any massage or bodywork methods, stop a session at any time, and are free to leave as they see fit.
Discussions between massage therapists at Hands On Healing and the client are confidential. Clients may choose to talk or remain silent during a session.
Our therapists are happy to listen to your conversation and share our professional expertise, but we prefer to avoid topics of a political, private, or sexual nature.
Hands On Healing maintains a zero tolerance policy regarding any form of inappropriate speech or behavior, including verbal, physical, emotional, financial, or sexual. Sessions provided by Hands On Healing therapists are strictly ethical and therapeutic. Improper behavior will not be tolerated. Any illicit or sexually suggestive remarks or advances made by the client will result in immediate termination of the session. Offenders will be liable for payment of the scheduled appointment and will not be rescheduled.
